Maria and I made these one year for a friend's party. I have not made a Halloween costume that even came close to these again. Why even try?
There was ONE problem with the design though... absolutely NO peripheral vision.

What is amazing here is ... the number of lanes (7 in 1 direction, incl. two hard shoulders - 3 lanes Express & 4 lanes Truck & Car). And also, how close all the houses are to this road. veender posted a photo:

A section of NJ-27 heading into Elizabeth, NJ. This was also once part of the Lincoln Highway.
Getting through urban, high-traffic New Jersey was tricky. We tried to follow the East Coast Greenway through this area of the state. Unfortunately, the Greenway is setup for people traveling at a slower pace. Six pages of cue sheets with turns every 1/10th of a mile just doesn't work out for our type of adventure.
The view you see in this photo was one that we had for quite a while. I actually take some pleasure from doing battle with motorists. Leo said many times this was by far the least favorite part of the trip.
And understandably so, as he encountered some real assholes that have apparently never seen a cyclist on the highway before.
Leo and I completed a 2.5 day, 200 mile cycling adventure from Millersville, PA to Brooklyn, NY. dustboy4 posted a photo:
About 1938, a new diner leaves the O'Mahony Plant in Elizabeth, NJ. I have no idea where this diner went or what happened to it but it is a great shot. It is interesting to note that the rigger is Ries Truckman where the primary rigger that O'Mahony used was Parker Bros.. I haven't seen a large number of images of O'Mahony diners being moved but the ones I have seen were almost always Parker Bros.. ThePinkPantherZ posted a photo:
